Peter’s Story…

I’m Peter Hilton, headteacher of Millbrook Primary School in Cheshunt. I qualified as an EYFS teacher in 2009 from University of Cumbria. I have worked in Newham, Redbridge and now Herts.

I first started running in 1999 but gave up due to a work related injury in the Police in 2004. My favourite distance then was half marathons. I started again March 2020 with the couch to 5K as I was 16 stone and got breathless walking to the shops.

I caught Covid in October that year and had to restart C25K but this time with asthma pumps.

These days I’m pleased to get round a 10K but need 3 more half marathons to make 100. My next half is London Landmarks my first one since 2004. Since restarting my running journey I am now down to 12 stone!

“My biggest achievement? Being raced to the finish line by a Rhinoceros in the 1999 London Marathon”

I also need 1 more marathon to make 10. Having completed:

Biggest achievement being raced to the finish line by. Rhinoceros in London 1999
