Event name & organiser: Hertfordshire Half (Run Through)
Event location: Knebworth House, Hertfordshire
Event distance: 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
Terrain: Undulating with a few longer gradual climbs but some nice long gradual descents once you reach the top. The event was mainly on roads with a couple of corners where you pass over grass, if it’s dry road shoes will be fine.
Would you say the event was good value for money? This was my first run through event and it was during the first round of post Covid events, I paid £30 To take part, it was well signed and marshalled with a great medal and t-shirt at the end. Definitely good value. I will be looking to do more Run Through events in the future.
What tips would you give to others before they take on this event? Make sure you arrive early as the road that leads to the car park shuts 30 mins before the event starts as it is part of the route. The traffic backs onto the dual carriageway and if you’re late and there is a chance you won’t make it in. As we started the race there were runners walking up the driveway who clearly hadn’t got in in time.
